Maternal and Neonatal Health at Chimaltenango and Patzun

Objective: To reduce the maternal and infant mortality rates in Guatemala.
Description: Provision of Safety Health Services in the maternal and infant care and attention at the municipalities of Chimaltenango and Patzun in the Department of Chimaltenango by means of the construction and equipment of a Maternal and Infant Hospital in Chimaltenango and a Maternal and Infant Health Center at Patzun Chimaltenango.ç
Extension of the coverage of Health Services in the Department of Chimaltenango by means of providing training to the medical doctors, professional and auxiliary nurses, midwives and administrative personnel.
Period: 2008-2009
Location: National Hospital of Chimaltenango and Chimaltenango Guatemala, Municipality of Patzun at Chimaltenango, National School of Nurses at the Ministry of Health in the capital city of Guatemala.

GUATEMALA: Provision of the land for the construction. Provision of personnel such as: medical doctors, professional and auxiliary nurses, midwives and administrative personnel to get technical training and then work directly in the center providing medical attention and managing the centers
Expected Results:
Maternal and Infant Health Hospital with the necessary equipment at Chimaltenango.
Maternal and Infant Health Center with the necessary equipment at Patzun.
Medical Personnel, Professional and Auxiliary nurses and Administrative Personnel that will be trained in Korea.
Auxiliary and Professionally Nurses and Midwives that will get training in the maternal and infant health area provided in Guatemala.
