About us
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is a central development aid agency of the Government of the Republic of Korea. Founded in 1991, it administers Korea’s grant aid and technical cooperation programs for developing countries.
The mission of KOICA is help developing countries lift their people out of poverty and achieve equitable and sustainable development. To fulfill its mission, KOICA provides following assistances to developing countries and their people:
Promote the equitable access of the people of developing countries to public services in the areas of education, health, potable water and sanitation, energy, environment, agriculture, transportation, communication, finance, etc. by constructing, improving and reinforcing related facilities and providing necessary equipment.
Enhance capacities of public service delivery of developing countries through consultancy, training, scholarships, etc.
Provide emergency relief to people affected by disasters and support their reconstruction efforts.
KOICA in Guatemala
Development assistance of KOICA for Guatemala were started from the very beginning of its establishment in 1991. From then on, KOICA has progressively increased its development aid programs for Guatemala. Now, KOICA is active in providing assistance in those areas of education, vocational training, health, ICT and rural development.
